Club Culture Vol.2 by Dansu Discs + other releases
The first time a daily release has a headliner not related to a Vaporwave type album. Use Dansu Discs might be better known for their early Lo-fi house releases but now they are a huge staple in the UK electronic dance music scene and I’ve been on a huge house release lately, so this vinyl has me the most excited. Plus that sticker art on the vinyl looks pretty early vapor to me, so it kind of fits. right guys? right…?
Club Culture Vol.2 by Dansu Discs (12″ Vinyl – DSD015)
This is the second volume in the Club Culture mix from Dansu Discs, an Electronics labels from the UK. Last year it had a huge response, so it’s nice they are accepting pre-ordered for volume 2 if demand is bigger than last years. It’s 4 tracks from 4 different artists. The artists include ADMNTi, R. Kitt, Jack Michael and GLOCKTA to help give us an idea of what sound to expect; House / IDM music.
ダブル ＳＩＧＮＡＬＳ by Diskette Park (MONGO edition cassette/floppy bundle)
This signalwave like album was originally released in July of 2019 and had a first run of cassette / floppies sell out pretty quickly. So to see a second run with the floppy bundle is pretty awesome. The different on the cassette is this time a ligher blue sticker and the j-card is a darker purple. Cool for those collectors out there. Plus if this is your first time hearing of this album it was a favorite of mine back when it was first released. Floppy bundles are kind of cool and probably pretty cheap. I’d like to see more of that in the scene. But then again this is Diskette Park which kind of goes without saying, it’s cool to have his music on a floppy.
What an interesting speech in front of what I think is some American panel. The sounds that accompany the speech really add to the tension and knowledge this man was declaring. Yeah, Myth, Domination & Label. Acadjmia really does have a unique sound and experience going for him. I once had an idea of turning my poems into music and this might have sparked that train of thought up again.
50 minutes of ambient avantgarde. More time than I had but I found the story interesting.. “𝑯𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒔, 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒔 .” Why the touch of grass and the feed of the horse? Why not the touch of his wife and the connection to his daughter. I guess the GOTU Mi tablet is part of that answer… or maybe everyone is dead and this is all he can handle to think of.
I should read a new sci-fi book, new month just started and I like to read at least one book a month. Maybe I’ll find something that sparks me to make some avant-garde ambient.
If you’re a fan of Uncle Squiddz it might be time you back up your music because he seems to be going down a dark road that might lead to him deleting all his online musical life. I talked to him about this last week but it seems he recalled all the negative commenting on his twitter but then this album came out. I wonder what is up.
Let’s all go give him some love and talk to him. Maybe he just needs a little extra support from all of us. The good news is the music is actually pretty good on this, so it’s not like his musical ability is what’s holding him back. It seems like it might be girl troubles and twitter drama that might be eating him.
I had just finished listening to an ambient album when I threw on the track Fairway Sunny Skies and the harshness of that track totally broke me out of that relaxed trance. This is an album that takes the familiar color schemes seen in golf games but obviously originally connected to a cyclone hitting the Florida coast. Kind of creative considering all the tracks are either weather or golf related. Which in a sense, could all just be from the experience of playing golf. Favorite track: Sudden Shower
Tbh, this really makes me want to play Mario golf for some reason.
