Today is a monumental day as we interview Crystal Cola, Future Funk / Vaporwave artist and talk about his music, the future of the scene and where he’s going in 2019. He’s best know for his funky upbeat percussion with original crafted instrumentals. He’s released over 4 albums/EP and various collaborations with artists such as Eagle Eyed Tiger, A.L.I.S.O.N, Hiro Tadomatsu and more.
Go check out a Musics the Hang Up first interview now!
I first found Crystal Cola after his album L8 Nite TV produced on cassette sold out on Future Funk label, Local Visions.
I started listening to the album a lot due to it’s interesting concept of using each track as a sound track to 30 minute segments of the night. Starting at 10:30pm and ending 3:30am we are transported in a time when we could just turn on the TV watch our favorite late night shows and fall a sleep to them. Similarly to Animal Crossing, each song fits the 30 minute perfectly and I recommend everyone a chance to try it out:
At one point Crystal Cola talks about how he worked with Hiro Tadomatsu under another project named “CMYK”. The song titled Umami can be found on youtube:

I’m super excited about this episode as it’s Musics the Hang Up first time interview an artist and publishing an episode. We also finally get some much needed music to play along and introduce the artist. So thank you Crystal Cola for this opportunity~
